Join Gail for a workshop to explore exactly what “Stretching” is.
• What is stretching?
• What tissues do we want to stretch, and what tissues should NOT be stretched? What is the relationship between warming up and stretching?
• How can we get a maximal stretch, and when in our practice should this take place?
• What is reciprocal innervation and how can we use it to enhance our stretch?
This will not be a yoga practice per se. We will apply what we learn about stretching to various asanas, but this workshop also has applications to other physical activities such as sports, dance, and other movement practices.
